I would recommend to anyone reading Love Wins that they also read Erasing Hell or Christ Alone by Wittmer and Horton.

Let me know if you have other questions on Love Wins, as I doubt I'll do a full review on it.Larry Baxterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14874337502774019677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5690457422594066182.post-38129381921235523342011-04-21T14:44:56.294-04:002011-04-21T14:44:56.294-04:00I just finished Love Wins and had previously looke...I just finished Love Wins and had previously looked at Velvet Elvis and Nooma. Yes, that promotional video was somewhere between scary and disturbing from an evangelical perspective.

Good questions, as there is a lot of confusion on the emerging/emergent church, and on what to think about Bell's recent book. I will do several posts on these topics as soon as I can make some time. To avoid skirting the question completely, I think Bell means well and loves God but some of his teachings do not align with Scripture and may cause more harm than good. The emerging church (not to be confused with the Emergent Village movement) does a great job at asking questions and pointing out flaws in how the church operates today, but they don't do so well with providing solutions to the concerns they raise. More on all that later. Have you studied Rob Bell's teaching and if so what are your thoughts?
I watched a youtube video of him promoting his book and this man is clearly and admits that he is emergent.
What are your thoughts on the emergent church?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
